South Korean Bulgogi
Ingredients:
1/2 yellow onion
3 green onions
⅓ cup coconut oil / aminos
¼ cup grade A maple syrup
3 tablespoons of sesame seeds
3 cloves of minced garlic
1 tablespoons Sesame oil (optional)
Sprinkle red pepper flakes (optional)
½ teaspoon fresh ginger (I bought frozen cubed ginger)
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 pounds beef sirloin steak
Instructions:
Chop the yellow and green onions.
Set aside green parts of the green onions Combine the sliced yellow onion, white parts of the green onion, and all the remaining ingredients except for the steak Slice the steak and add the steak slices to the marinade.
Allow to marinate for at least a few hours
Cook the steak over medium heat in a single layer in batches or in a stir fry pan. The goal is to sear and caramelize the steak without letting it steam. Cook for 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway, or until just cooked (do not overcook!).
Add green onions as toppings and serve.
You can also grill the steak by threading the strips onto skewers.
