Eat Right for You
Intuitive eating, using Ayurvedic medicine, and eating right for my blood type (A positive) helps me feel less energy depleted to feeling more vitality and ease with my digestive system. I used to want to fall asleep right after eating certain meals. Now, I feel like I have the stamina to continue on with my day with little tweaks to my lifestyle choices. I used to eat on the go smoothies, nuts, berries, apples, and jerky. Now, I picnic / sit down for my meal as often as possible in a serene environment. I choose foods that make me feel nourished. Here are a few energy foods that we enjoy in our family:
Energy food idea list:
Pumpkin muffins (homemade / low-glycemic recipe)
Yogurt, chia, and wild berries
Granola (with pumpkin seeds, chia, flax, and / or quinoa)
Cashews + dried fruit (unsulfured prunes, apricots, figs, cherries)
Ezeikal/ Sprouted toast and nit butter/ butter with raw honey
Rosemary nut mix
Apples (steamed with cinnamon and honey)
Salmon sushi & miso
Purple sweet potato (dried or steamed)
Mushrooms (dried or steamed)
Muscle soup
Seaweed soup

I also eat what is in season. I like to purchase from local markets or use the EWG/Weston Price list for name brands that are trustworthy. I peel off the skin if I am unsure about the farming practices and then I steam the given produce. I also stick with low glycemic fruits like wild berries.
I hope this blog gives you some ideas of energy foods to try. I am open to your ideas as well for items to add to the list. Message or follow me @lilyscollective to continue this health journey together.
